The Absolute and The Finest Duo of All-Time

While Usher's fifth studio album, Here I Stand, is coming here in the Philippine waters, (perhaps, it's already here as I'm writing this article)I was like at topmost of the Mount Everest when I stumbled upon this WOW and AWESOME and COOL live performance of Usher's 2004 single "My Boo."

By a mile, this song is the bomb! Two of the finest R&B icons in one great unforgettable collaboration, what can I ask for more? Truth is, this is even hotter than If I Ain't Got You and I Hate That I Love You (a duet by Rihanna and Neyo).

You know, Rihanna's collaboration with Neyo is also cool but there's no "UGH" factor I found in Usher's My Boo. In fact, My Boo is absolutely a well-written love song that mainly talks about unconditional love and moving on.

It started when we were younger and you were mine (my boo)
Now another brothers' taken over but its'
still in your eyes (my boo)
Even though we use to argue it's alright
(it's alright girl, that's okay)
And if we haven't seen each other in a while,
but you will always be my boo

Overall, the entire message is a bit melancholy but delivered in an urbane suave mood. This R&B song reminds you that you can still soar up high with a damage ego.

"My Boo" has top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for five consecutive weeks and hailed as the Best Contemporary R&B Duo in 2005 Grammy's.

Being Separated By A Block.... This is A Crazy Title, huh?

I'm trying to recover from an unexpected writer's block today. Maybe I'm just tired. It's time for me to chill out. That's why, I'm posting this blog entry. Nothing to do. Waiting for the ideas to flow. Wishing after ten minutes, I can squeeze on some ideas for my tasks. Geez, my topic is somehow boring, about cellphones. I'm not a "techie geek," I'm just a "trendy nerd." Weeeheee!!!!

Nothing to do. Better to post this heartbreaking song by my man, Usher. This soulful single is taken from his third album, 8701. I have one at home, sad to say, it's only a cassette tape. That sounds old school, right? But enjoy the song. It's good and emo, taking you back to the old awe-suck days of huhuhuhu while having those sleepless nights, feeling unwell and incomplete.

This song is very therapeutic to me... I'm sure it will be my theme song for the moment.

And before I go, tell me what you think of the song. Just leave a comment. Say anything you want to say. It's a democratic country after all. Just don't be rude or else you'll get screwed... Peace and Love

Goodbye And Nothing More

My mind was humming a tune as I woke up this morning. It was actually that R&B hit by Mariah Carey "Bye Bye." I really don't know why but I think I need to say goodbye to someone from my past. There's no doubt that the song was nice. Its lyrics were very endearing. It reminded me of the song "one Sweet Day," which also one of the benchmark singles of Mariah Carey with Boyz II Men. I just hope I can see "Bye Bye" at the the peak of US Billboard in the coming weeks.

So, when I arrived at the office, I immediately search for other "Bye Bye" songs in YouTube. Luckily, I found this awesome single by my babe, Alicia Keys. The title of the song is "Goodbye." Listening to it was such a WOW, it stirs my emo system right in the glow.

Now, I'll post the lyrics here.

How do you love someone
That hurts you oh so bad
With intentions good
Was all he ever had

Yeah, everyone goes through it. Once in my life, I love someone who I only think is my close friend. But as time goes by, I've realized that I can love her more than what I expected.

But how do I let go when I've
Loved him for so long and I've
Given him all that I could
Maybe love is a hopeless crime
Giving up what seems your lifetime
What went wrong with something once so good

But how could you love someone who can't love you back? It smashes your ego like a wheezing hurricane. I really don't know what went wrong when it feels so right. I might lose the race, give up the fight but she's still my good friend no matter what.
(sweet lemon)

How do you find the words to say
To say goodbye
If your heart don't have the heart to say
To say goodbye

I know now I was naïve
Never knew where this would lead
And I'm not trying to take away
From the good man that he is

She is a beautiful girl. A nice simple girl with a sporty and driven personality. Until now, I still couldn't believe that way back in elementary and high school we're close friends. In college, we're textmates. I was just a BIG stupid to understand that she's more than a friend to me.

But how do I let go when I've
Loved him for so long and I've
Given him all that I could
Was it something wrong that we did
Because others infiltrated

What went wrong with something once so good

Unluckily, life is simply unfair no matter how you try. It revolves around the pieces of mysterious fragments. All love stories must come to an end not only because it hurts but also because it's for your own good and for some people involved.

How do you find the words to say
To say goodbye
If your heart don't have the heart to say
To say goodbye

Is this the end are you sure
How should you know when you've never been here before
It's so hard to just let go
When this is the one and only love I've ever known

Time heals everything and there's always a time to say goodbye. I don't know why I need to say goodbye or was it simply about a hopeless fate? Geez, I want to puke talking about fate. lol

So how do you find the words to say
To say goodbye
If your heart don't have the heart to say
To say goodbye

Maybe, maybe not. Words are not enough. No one has the right to say anything against me or her. It's simply goodbye, nothing more.

Who Doesn't Want A Six-Pack?

Admit it, folks! You always dream of a nice six-pack. Everyone wants it. The one who denies it is simply pathetic.

Having a nice six-pack abs is a total asset, especially for us men. When I watch Survivor and look at those hot chicks with those firm abs, I simply just can't understand why the world is very unfair.

(Bakit sila meron? Ako wala, huhuhu)The Loser's Cry of Frustration!!!!

Anyway, do you know that owning a nice six-pack can improve your upper body figure? I'm not a bodybuilder junkie but I'm a health-conscious nerd with a weak immune system who regularly wish that one day, there's a miracle from Heaven and I can obtain a six-pack like that of Usher Raymond. Oh geez, I'm crazy, looks like I need a rehab.

In this video, you'll be taught how to achieve a six-pack abs in six minutes using only your couch. Imagine that? First time I've seen this video, I find it hard to believe. No one can successfully trim his abs in a short period of time. If you really want it, then you need to exercise regularly and undergo proper diet. This video may be a trick but, give it a try, who knows it will work on you.

This Is The R&B Single You Can't Forget

Syesha Mercado, the powerhouse soulful belter in the recent concluded American Idol Season 7, performs it. Here's her version:

SYESHA MERCADO - IF I AIN'T GOT YOU

My man and my babe, Alicia Keys and Usher Raymond together in one in this once-in-a-lifetime neo-soul collaboration that can surely bring chills all over your body. Usher and Alicia are just the bomb in their own niches. This is simply a must-heard!!! Listen to it now:

At last, here's comes the original. In this live performance of "If I Ain't Got You" during the 2005 Grammy's, Alicia Keys reveals herself as the real the woman of substance, the all-time admirable Grammy winner, and the singer/songwriter who sprinkled the music world with a vibe of nirvana.

She's scorching HOT, isn't she?

What still I can say? To my girl, my friend, my boo, my inspiration, my forever... whoever you are to me, everything simply means nothing if I ain't got you:)

Losing A Mom.....

I was somehow shock when I received an instant message from our HR assistant head informing us that our clerk's 82-year-old mother passed away because of colon cancer. It's a tough reality! That only proves that cancer is a real nemesis of the human race. Once you got it, there's no way out.

Like my mom, she died of stomach cancer when she's only thirty-eight. Literally, I grew up without my mom on my side. I grew up in a home without those words of inspiration from a mother. I never had those regular hugs and kisses whenever I felt empty and blue.

It's been sixteen years since my mom passed away but until now, I still regret why I didn't bid goodbye to her during her last hours of breath. The moment when I realized that losing a mom produces a cascading patterns of devastation injected inside your unconscious till you grow old.

Sometimes, I simply think that I am always waiting for that girl of my dreams who can complete the missing piece of me not only because I'm in love but metaphorically because I will always bring this "mother fixation instinct" I can't free myself from.

Janet Jackson At Her Best

This is my number 1 favorite track in Janet's tenth studio album, Discipline. "Never Letchu Go" is a soulful introspective track that redefines the concept of love. Love is not all about laughters, flirts, lust and sweet nothings. Love is mainly about pain. Some people may not like it but we have no choice but to deal with it.

"I don't wanna give up on my fate
and I don't wanna think that it's too late
So if something broke
Let me go and fix it"

This is what the song is all about. The pain of falling in love. The pain of not letting go. Truth is, many people can't let go even if he knows that the love story is no longer available for second chances.

"And if something is lost let me go and get it
Cause I don't wanna stand with all this time
and I'll be next to you cause you're the one
I said it twice
and I say it once more

I never gonna let you go"

How Strong Is Your Faith?

What if, Jesus Christ was really married to Mary Magdalene? Because of this question, Da Vinci Code is very popular around the globe. In reality, the book is damn good and well-researched. The movie is also incredible. One of my favorites as a matter of fact. Yet, have you ever thought of it? What if, Da Vinci Code is not only fiction but a tale of truth, which was kept into the innermost part of this world? What if, Dan Brown is just saying that his book is a work of fiction to conform to the Catholics’ protocols?

If you ask me, there’s nothing wrong if Jesus Christ was, indeed, married to Mary Magdalene. The fact that His Father sent His only begotten son here on earth, Jesus is somehow implying to us that He was once a human being with vulnerabilities. In this case, Jesus might also be a great sinner like us. I am not saying that you don’t have to believe to those Children’s books, which only traces the ideal inspiring life of Jesus. Those stories are true but I want to ask you: Did you ever ask yourselves what’s the life of Jesus on the other side?

Basically, I can’t really point a single trace of immorality if Jesus was married to Magdalene. He’s brought in this world as a MAN; therefore, He possessed all forms of physical desires, which can be only satisfied by an opposite sex. Yes, Magdalene, according to the bible, is a prostitute. What’s the BIG problem? No one is perfect. If Jesus fell in love with Magdalene then it somehow tells me that Jesus is not a prejudice. He doesn’t judge the book by its cover. It only reveals that He’s not only a GOD but also a Good Man while here on earth.

I’m not compelling you to believe. However, this world owns a huge land of mysteries waiting to be unfold. I’m not an atheist or a pious person, either. I’m open for any possibilities. I just don’t rely what is written or what is coerced for me to believe with. There’s a saying that says: For those who believe, does not raise questions. I don’t believe; Questions are more important than answers, even if the question has no answer at all. The BIG problem with us is we are trying to speak, act and believe what is only perfect. Geez, perfection is boring! I know for a fact that life is complicated. Yet, we must not forget that everything happens for a reason. Like Da Vinci’s Code, I’m somehow sure that there is a “truthful” reason behind its fictional tale, do you agree?

When ESPC- DAVAO Agents of Value (AOV) Turns One

Yesterday night, May 17, 2008, Eversun Software Philippines Corporation (ESPC) or popularly known as Agents of Value (AOV) in the world wide web has celebrated its one year anniversary with a feast of boisterous hilarity.

An estimate of 130 day/night shift agents with their office administrative staffs, headed by their young and loving Davao-Branch Manager Ms. Merju Tingzon, gathered all together in the rooftop of Diamond Building along McArthur Highway to welcome its first fruitful anniversary.

The said event was opened by a heartwarming prayer headed by the pious Web Developer, Clent Pantojan. Then, the musically-inclined agents leash out their "thumb-up" talents on the centerstage. One agent played the guitar while the other one played the mini-keyboard. Singing the acoustic version of the hit R&B single, Umbrella, Elvie (oops, I forgot her surname), the writer, proved that she has this indescribable unruffled voice behind her reserved personality. Other unforgettable songs performed were "Somebody We'll Know" (Mandy Moore's version) and our own South Border's original of "Kahit Kailan."

The highlight of the event was the comedy show. There's this openly gay stand-up comedian (again I don't his real name but everyone calls him John) who stormed the event with his R-18 and intense jokes on "chupa," "jakol," "finger-finger" and the such.

As expected, some outspoken agents have openly shared their liberating point of views that bombarded the night with a bombastic bang. As the event came to a close, there were parlor games and late-night snacks.

Agents of Value (AOV) Philippines
is a well-established outsourcing IT corporation which hires highly-motivated well-rounded agents niching in computer programming, web developing, webmastering, graphic designing, virtual assistance, link building and content writing.

To Cesar Quinon, our Training and Development Officer and Isis Lahora, web developer, thanks for allowing me to use the pictures above. You are fully appreciated. Peace and Love!

(For other pics and videos during the said event, I'm sure that my fellow agents will post it on their blogs. I'll try to leash out some winning bacons there.)

Which "House" Character Am I?

I am hook with the TV series "House" because the story lines are funny and unusual. David Shore, the creator of the series, is truly a gifted storyteller who can generate great dramatic but not boring sequences and able to capsule it into an unforgettable twist that literally arouse your deepest curiosity. Although I have a difficulty in watching "House" due to its several unfamiliar jargons, I still enjoy it.

I simply wish that Dr. Greg House will be my doctor, so that I can walk normally and be with my beautiful girl until the end of time.

Before I forget, Dr. Eric Foreman, played by Omar Epps, is a neurologist in the show. The field of medicine I want to proceed into if I will become a doctor. Problem is, can I be a good doctor? I don't really know.

Which "24" Character Am I?

Among the thousands action-packed TV series steaming in the entertainment TV world these days, I guarantee you that 24 is one of the very bestest. Not only because of its never-ending action sequences but also because of its groundbreaking heavy twist and turns that can absolutely take your breath away. To me, the plot seems a bit predictable but it's always riveting.

For those people who wants to discover how those clandestine agencies work and how those people behind these clandestine agencies think, this series is a must see. You tend to realize that dirty games are a necessity in this world of painful reality. Like what the author of the book The Little Prince wrote, "What is essential is invisible to the eye." Same as goes, not all your friend is your foe and not all your foe is your friend.

Which "Lost" Character Am I?

Some people say it's boring. Some people say it's the most amazing show on earth. No mater what they say "Lost" is still my number 1 favorite TV series.LOST is a thriller drama that follows the lives of the plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island in the Pacific. The plot is actually a resemblance of the hit TV reality show Survivor. The only difference is nobody will be eliminated.

What I really like in the series is its series of unpredictability. You'll not know what will happen next. There is a chain of indescribable significance among the characters and each one of them has an interesting heartbreaking story to tell. To Damon Lindelof, J.J. Abrams, and Jeffrey Lieber, the creators of "Lost," thank you for introducing me in the cascading world of changeable unknown that only fate can provide answers.

While stumbling upon the videos in YouTube, I found this "cliff-hanger" opening theme of LOST, watch it, it's very cool.

Which "CSI" Character Am I?

Greag Sanders is the laboratory technician in the hit TV series "Crime Scene Investigation."

My SURVIVOR Alter-Ego

I took this test in Buddy TV and oh geez, here's the result:

There's no doubt that Stephanie LaGrossa is one of the competitive players from Survivor: Palau (10th season) and a come-back player in Survivor Guatemala (11th season) where she won second place from the captivating Danni Boatwright.

Watch the opening credit here:

Survivor Micronesia VS Survivor Panama Exile Islands

Currently, of all the sixteen seasons of SURVIVOR, two seasons tops my favorite list. These are Survivor Panama Exile Island 12th season wherein the Yoga instructor, Aras Baskauskas outsmarts his fellow castaways and Survivor Micronesia 16th season wherein the Charity Organizer/Model Boxer, Parvati Shallow outlasts the rest.

Now, I'm posting the season opening credits here and tell me what you think. Which is better? I can't decide on my own so help me out. Feel free to leave a comment or email me at deanryanmartin@yahoo.com

When Was The First Time Ever I Saw Her Face?

The lyrics of this song is incomparable, wishing I can turn back the hands of time when I first saw her face. When was the first time ever I saw her face?

It was in the third grade. It was a quiet afternoon after-class relaxation and my teacher was preparing her for another round of dramatic speech. I was staring at her when all of a sudden, our innocent eyes met for a while with those glowing spark of anticipation to know each other's names. Those cracking nerves of adoration sailing through inside my bloodstream like an undying laceration of faith, hope and twisting revolution of fate. The moment when a genuine friendship began and would never fade away until we grow old.

What A Tough Final Immunity Challenge For These Girls In Micronesia

This final immunity challenge is one of the most toughest game in the Survivor history. A slightest mistake can cost you a million-dollar bucks. Pure concentration is the key. Sucks though that Parvati Shallow, the gorgeous, sexy and charismatic babe on the left, didn't win. But it's still good that Amanda Kimmel, the babe on the right, aced this challenge and guaranteed a spot in the final 2.

The Bestest Survivor Final Immunity Challenge

The 12th season of Survivor took place in the beautiful remote island of Panama. The video you are watching right now is the final immunity challenge. Here, Aras Baskauskas (a 26-year-old yoga instructor from Venice California), Danielle DiLorenzo (a 26-year-old medical sales representative from Boston Massachusetts) and Terry Deitz (a 48-year-old pilot from Simsbury Connecticut) were battling it all out to guarantee a spot in the final two.

Currently, this season tops my favorite because of it's nerve-cracking unexpected twists and the best powerhouse players were in the top 3. Good thing was, Terry got voted out and Aras and Danielle were in the final 2. Believe me or not, these two survivors were the ones I was rooting for since this season began. That's why, I was in extreme euphoria when they made the final two and when Aras grabbed the million dollars.

Survivor: Panama Exile Islands is simply awesome, an unforgettable season of interweaving perceptions of these goals, that is, to Outwit, to Outplay and to Outlast.

I Know You Can, Not You Should

Which is better? Should you do it? or Can you do it?

In plain English, should is a command. It expresses conditions used to give advises to do something. Whereas can refers to the ability to do something. See the difference? Can is way therapeutic than should. "can" gives us the options rather than the "rules to follow." Why say "you should do it" when you can say "you can do it?"

These days, whether you agree or disagree, many people are fond of giving advises. "You Should do this and that," "You should know better," "You should learn how to..." these should-lines are very familiar to you, right? And at times, listening to these should-lines can be very irritating. Do you know why? It's chiefly because "should" leashes out our right to make our own decisions. No one is perfect but it doesn't mean that we are not capable of making decisions for ourselves.

Here's the catch: The ethics in psychology reveals that you advise ONLY IF someone asks for it. Never use the word "should," especially if you are talking with a person diagnosed with profound depression. To them, "Should" is a coercion, confining them in a room with no air.

Have you realized that the most special gift we received from God is the power of choice? Then how can use our power of choice if we regularly use the word "should?" This is the reason why I hate myself when I use the word "should." Life is not a command, it's a choice to live.

Reality is, all of us commit mistakes but we CAN always learn from our own mistakes and if you think you can, you simply can do it.

"No One knows My Name"

There's no doubt that I'm a R&B addict and these African-American stars are the bomb worldwide. They are rockin' my world into different horizons of euphoria, of inspiration and of rejuvenation. Yet, when I stumbled upon this piano rock single by Augustana in YouTube, I felt a sudden twirl in my stomach. Truth is, the lyrics reminds me of someone whom I can't let go.

Before I forgot, Augustana is an American rock band hailed from San Diego, California and the song "Boston" is taken from their 2005 album entitled "All the Stars and Boulevards." I personally don't know them but this song is a scorching one, folks!

It made me realize that Someone may know your real name, your real address and your mobile number but it takes a lifetime to prove that you sincerely love that someone.

The Bestest Star-Spangled Banner of All Time

Singing the US national anthem during the MLB All Star Game, Fantasia Barrino proved once again that she's still the bestest American Idol with a mind-blowing soulful voice that shines the whole stadium with a triumphant storm of applause.

This is way better than Whitney Houston. If Whitney is just the great Whitney, Fantasia is simply fantastic. Listening to her voice is an indescribable joy and honor.
