Serena Steps Down

What's happening to WTA?

Earlier this day, it's a real shock to read an article on Serena Williams' early exit in Stuttgart Tournament. Her swept loss (0-6, 6-1, 6-4) to Li Na of China costs her to climb down in WTA Top Ranking starting Monday. This is massively a horrible news that absolutely rocks the whole world with great frustration!

"Obviously I want to be number one, but I am not focusing on that," Williams said. "I am focusing on winning titles and that goes hand in hand."

When Serena Williams won the US Open 2008, I thought she will going to put an end to WTA inconsistent rankings. But I was wrong! Unexpected twist still happens in the WTA rankings and sadly, the rankings will remain inconsistent no matter what.

The whole world has already witness four frontrunners (Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic and Serena Williams) in the WTA since Justine Henin's unexpected retirement in June.
